Decentralized Identity returns power to users over when, where, and with whom they share their personal information.

Once the user verifies their identity, Zeus3 sends its attestation about the user’s identity to their private vault. Once this happens, only the user can decide to share it with a Requesting Party. Rather than storing user information in a centralized database, the data is encrypted client side, sharded twice, and then split among a number of parties to avoid a centralized database’s single point of failure.

Benefits for Businesses

  • Designed to maximize security, privacy, and user control from day 1, Zeus3’s identity services are inherently GDPR and CCPA compliant.
  • Using a blockchain as a decentralized and global registry eliminates single point of failure and allows the growth of an ecosystem of parties outside of Zeus3 to provide or request high assurance credentials from users.
  • Because credentials are unforgeable, stored under the user’s control, and are easily traced to the Credential Provider, they can be reused across services.
  • Decentralized data storage reduces the amount of trust placed in a single party not to be breached compared to a single party storing all user data.
  • Zeus3 immediately deletes data derived from the user’s identity verification, ensuring that the information only resides inside the user’s private data vault. Zeus3’s deletion of data limits the attack surface compared to centralized third party aggregators.

Safe Data Collection

Users collect a set of attestations about themselves and other data derived from their online activity, to be encrypted and stored under their control. Credential Providers make attestations about users and their identities. They sign the credentials with the private key to their public address on the blockchain, cryptographically tying the credentials to them and making the credentials unforgeable. The blockchain acts as a decentralized, immutable, global registry of public identities.

Safe Data Collection

Users collect data derived from their online activity and attestations about themselves, which is encrypted and stored under their control. Once collected and stored in the user’s private vault, neither Zeus3 (nor any other party) can access or decrypt the user’s data.

Credential Providers make attestations about users and their identities. They sign the credentials with the private key to their public address on the blockchain, cryptographically tying the credentials to them and making the credentials unforgeable. The blockchain acts as a decentralized, immutable, global registry of public identities which allows Requesting Parties to verify the legitimacy of the credentials without relying on a breachable/fallible middleman. No sensitive data resides on the blockchain.

Private, Off-Chain Data Stores

Credentials reside in users’ private, off-chain private vaults. Users share them with Requesting Parties, who verify the legitimacy of the credentials by tracing the cryptographic signature to the public identity of the credential provider on the blockchain. This allows Requesting Parties to trace the legitimacy of the credentials to the immutable blockchain while eliminating centralized registries in the middle that can be compromised.

Private, Off-Chain Data Stores

Credentials go to users’ private, off-chain data stores. Users share them with requesting parties, who verify the legitimacy of the credentials by tracing the cryptographic signature to the public identity of the credential provider on the blockchain. This allows requesting parties to ensure the legitimacy of the credentials while eliminating centralized registries in the middle that can be compromised.
